How do I become a Caribou Contests Contact?
Answer:
Becoming a Caribou Contests Contact is easy and free. It takes about 5 minutes to sign up.
To register, in the sidebar select Contacts > Registration, or click here You will need to give your contact information and if necessary add your school as well. From there you will receive detailed instructions for running the contests.
Can a school have more than one Contact?

Can a school have more than one Contact?
Answer:
Yes, it is possible for example for two teachers to register as a Contact. However, only one teacher should handle the access codes for one grade level to avoid confusion (eg. Mrs. Doe handles 3/4 access codes and Mr. Smith handles 5/6 access codes).
When a new Contact registers at your school, you will receive an email notification (unless you have unchecked ‘Allow Caribou Contests to contact me’). You can see all the Contacts registered at your school: when you sign in, in the upper right corner of the Contact homepage they are given in the dropdown list ‘Other contacts registered at your school’.

-
Why can’t I see the students registered under my colleague’s Contact account?
Answer:
Contacts can only view student information and results for students registered under their own contact account for security reasons.
Can a parent be a Contact?
-
Can a parent be a Contact?
Answer:
To maintain fairness we prefer that students be supervised by a non-parent adult like a teacher, tutor, or librarian. However, in the event that it is impossible to register to participate in the contests with a school or another institution, a parent may sign up to be a Contact to run the contest as a Homeschool.
For advice on this, please read the instructions under the item Our school doesn’t want to run contests even if parents agree to pay or read the page Participation/Fees.
I did not receive an activation email.
-
I did not receive an activation email.
Answer:
When you register for a new account or change your email address, you should receive an activation email within seconds. If you don’t, then our email is not reaching you. The solution will depend on the cause:- The registration attempt did not go through. Try again with the same information.
- Your email’s spam filter has blocked our email. Check your trash/spam folder to see if our email is there. If it is, check if you have the option to mark it as ‘not spam’. If necessary you may have to contact your IT office to unblock emails from [email protected]
- If that does not work, try to register with a different email address, such as a private one that does not use your institutions’ email filters. Email Caribou so we can delete your previous attempt.
- There was a typo in your email when you registered. Email Caribou so we can compare your email to the one used when trying to register.
I can't log in as a Contact.
-
I can't log in as a Contact.
Answer:
To log in to your Contact account, you need the correct email and password. If you forget your password, you can reset it. Simply go to the Contact sign in (sidebar menu> Contacts > Sign In) and where it says “Forgot your password?” click on “Reset it”.
To reset your password you will need the Special Date you entered when you created your account. If you have forgotten this as well, then email Caribou Contests and we will reset it and send it to you, whereupon you can use it to reset your password. In this case we also advice changing your Special Date to something you will remember in the future, like your birthday.
It is also possible that your account is not activated. After registering, you should have immediately received an email with a link to activate your account. You would also need to activate your account after changing your email address. If you did not receive the activation email, see I did not receive an activation email.
Please make sure you are using the correct email, which means the one you used when you signed up. It happens often that school changes the email addresses of all their faculty, and Contacts try to sign in with their new email address. To update your email address, sign in with your now outdated email address, go to ‘Edit my Account’ and update your email.
